Meet Rain, the taxidermist behind Bling Out Your Dead, a Black-owned oddities and rogue taxidermy shop.

Born in Bakersfield California, Rain describes herself as a starving artist from birth. But as the years pass she builds upon that artist title with a plethora of others - she's a mom, a business owner, and a mental health advocate, too. When Rain first began creating she launched her shop The Resining, as most of her pieces included resin. Now, she's expanding her offering to include more strange and exciting art and taxidermy pieces, thus she rebranded as Bling out Your Dead - an oddities and rogue taxidermy shop.

On why she ventured into creating

As a survivor of trauma Rain began pouring herself into her art as an escape from mental illness, and because of her own experiences with mental health, Rain is now an advocate of mental health awareness and hopes to help end the stigma associated with bipolar disorder.

"Stemming from a Biology class taught by passionate instructors, she turned the passion into an occupation." - Cast of Kaoz podcast

Rain also works with memento mori pieces and in the unfortunate event of a loved ones death, Rain can also create memorial jewelry for ashes.
