The story follows a Black family fighting supernatural evil in New York City

Image Comics series “Bitter Root,” which stars a Black family fighting evil supernatural forces in 1920s Harlem, will soon get the big-screen treatment courtesy of director Ryan Coogler (“Black Panther”). Legendary will produce the adaptation, alongside Zinzi Evans (“A Wrinkle in Time”) and Sev Ohanian (“Space Jam 2”).
