Rock wrote the mind-bending script, and teamed with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures for a reboot of the highly successful Saw film

Director Darren Lynn Bousman has announced that production has wrapped on the ninth Saw, which stars Chris Rock as a police detective investigating a series of grisly crimes. Samuel L. Jackson will portray Rock’s father, with Nazneen Contractor as a coroner who works closely with Rock’s character. Max Minghella (Horns, The Darkest Hour) plays William Schenk, Rock’s partner, and Marisol Nichols (Scream 2, “Riverdale”) plays Capt. Angie Garza, Rock’s boss. Opens in theaters May 15, 2020.
