The #Blkgrlswurld Punk Fest and Zine Fair celebrates women of color in punk, metal and hardcore music scenes
The first-ever #Blkgrlswurld Punk Fest & Zine Fair will take place on Saturday, September 28 at Philadelphia’s Institute of Contemporary Art. The event is FREE to attend and is open to all ages. #Blkgrlswurld is a New York City-based small-press publisher managed by Christina and Courtney Long since 2014. With a love for heavy metal, the duo has curated a program of live music performance and a zine fair featuring artists and printmakers across the East Coast.

Punks of Color Panel Talk: Friday, Sep 27, 2019 (6- 8 pm)
Six guest panelists discuss their personal journeys as black and brown youth in underground music, and their relationship to music as self expression. Moderated by #Blkgrlswurld’s Senior Editor Courtney Long, the panel will also explore the cultural implications of punk music made for and by marginalized communities, and the future of this punk scene.
Punk Fest & Zine Fair: Saturday, Sep 28, 2019 (1- 8 pm)
Live music starts at 1:00pm with performances by: The Ire, Husbandry, Bruja Luna, Sub Space, Material Support and Frida Kill. A Riso Zine Workshop will take place from 1:30pm to 3:00pm in the auditorium, and the Zine Fair takes place from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
